Ireland’s oldest university, Trinity College Dublin was founded on the orders of Queen Elizabeth in 1592. It is situated on College Green in the heart of Dublin opposite the old houses of parliament and is famous for housing the Book of Kells. This work was written around 800 AD and is an illuminated manuscript of the four Gospels, considered the height of western calligraphy due to its beautiful illustration and ornamentation
