Royal Welsh

The Royal Welsh was formed from three other regiments on St David’s Day, 1st March, 2006. Its parent regiments go back over 300 years, and were first raised within days of each other in 1689 when King William III commanded that regiments for service in Ireland were to be formed. The regiment has gained 244 Battle Honours and 43 of its soldiers have been awarded Victoria Crosses.
